- By writing tracks, do you mean empty tracks - ie formatting? There are
- many quick formatting programs. I use Turbo Format, which creates all
- the tracks on a 1541 disk in 9 seconds in 64 mode.

- If you're not writing empty tracks, you're writing files. For most
- purposes, you can probably write files the fastest with JiffyDOS -
- a replacement ROM chip set from CMD.
