  17. By writing tracks, do you mean empty tracks - ie formatting? There are
  18. many quick formatting programs. I use Turbo Format, which creates all
  19. the tracks on a 1541 disk in 9 seconds in 64 mode.

  24. If you're not writing empty tracks, you're writing files. For most
  25. purposes, you can probably write files the fastest with JiffyDOS -
  26. a replacement ROM chip set from CMD.
